We all had a lovely time today visiting Father Christmas at Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed playing on all the equipment, before having a lovely healthy lunch. After lunch it was time for the main event-seeing Father Christmas in his beautiful grotto. We all made our Christmas wishes, and are keeping our fingers crossed that we've been good enough to have a surprise on December 25th.
We are learning lots!
We have had a very busy few weeks in class. As well as learning about all things scrumptious, we have been busy finding out all about Read Write Inc. and how it can help us to read and write. We have built up our knowledge a sound at a time, and can now put the sounds together to make some super words. Because we are so fantastic, we can find some of the words in books that we like to read, and have all taken home a lovely new reading book.
We have enjoyed working in the new muddy kitchen that Mr Williams helped us build, and planning meals in our outdoor 'snack shack'. Unfortunately it has all taken a battering in the terrible rain, but we are hoping to have some super new rainproof clothing soon, so that we can get back out there and learn even more.
This term we have also enjoyed using 'dough disco' to help us build up all the small muscles in our fingers-when all the muscles have had a workout our writing is even better!
We are really looking forward to going to 'Rumble in the Jungle' next week to see Father Christmas, and then finally performing 'A Miracle in Town', for our Mums and Dads. We hope they all enjoy it! :)
* There will be an introductory Read Write Inc. session for Mums and Dads on Monday 7th December 2015. This will show you what your child has learned so far, and what you can do to help them. Please come along at 3pm and find out what it's all about. *
