We had a very close encounter with some giraffes, and couldn't believe the colour of their tongues. The penguins were very interesting too. We tried to identify them using the key, but they were moving so fast that it was tricky. Mrs Lee was a little disappointed that the zebras were more coffee and cream than black and white, but the meercats amused everyone.
The highlight of the day however was watching the majestic lions-they were truly amazing. As the park was only open to schools, we had lots of opportunity to view then with only small groups of children. This enabled us to spend a long time watching them yawn, scratch and snooze. Again a big thank you to all our volunteers, who gave up their time to support all the lovely activities that we participated in today :)
