We have been enjoying our maths reasoning activities, we get to learn while exploring the world around us, using lots of different apparatus and best of all we have partners to share our ideas and work with.
This term we are looking at travel agents, in particular places that travel agents take people to visit. Below is our plan for the term.
Professor Green, from the Cardiff Museum, has asked us to help him carry out some research into climate control. We have been asked to plant some spring bulbs and record the rainfall, temperature and growth of our bulbs over the next 6 months. Today was the start, we enjoyed planting our bulbs and making labels for our pots. Tomorrow we take our first readings.
We enjoy having class pets, Marv and Sherbet are very entertaining. They like to run around the class in their balls and when we let them out they enjoy running free in their pen , however, today Sherbet found a new place to hide! Find a child in our class and ask them where Sherbet's new hiding place is!
This week the school held elections for the school council. Many children in Dosbarth Celyn wrote and presented their own speech detailing what they would like to do if they were elected onto the council.
Congratulations to the new class councillors, Jessica Hill and Dylan Hutchinson I am sure you will be great representatives for our class.
I would like to thank all the parents who managed to attend the 'Meet the Teacher' meeting, for those who could not attend I would like to take the opportunity to share the same information;
- Reading books will be sent home on Fridays, I would like children to read their books over the weekend and their reading records signed, (this is their reading homework) I would like the books to be returned on Mondays. If you would like your child to take their books home each night in order to practise their reading, that would be great.
-P.E. lessons are every Friday, please can you ensure your child has their P.E. kit, long hair is tied back and they are not wearing any jewellery.
-Homework will also be sent home every Friday and will need to be returned to school on Wednesdays.
-We have a class hamster called Marv, he needs a loving home on weekends and school holidays. If you would like to look after Marv please send a note into school so we can organise a diary for his little vacations.
-This term we are looking at the way people lived during the 1940's and 1960's, if you or someone in your family have any photos, artefacts or stories you could share with the class we would love to hear from you.
Thanks for all of your support if you have any queries please contact the school.
Thank you , Miss John
