Hi Year Six, you have worked hard and have made some really good progress since September - we have six weeks left together to really work hard and achieve some fab results...good luck, you can do it!
This week, Josh, Daniel and Morgan Rushton all had full marks in their Big Maths, Beat That tests - all of you just need one more set of full marks and you go onto Level 5, well done!
Ellie had her second set of full marks also - just one more to leave level 5!
Megan Rushton and Leoni - both of you are now on Level 5 now, well done!
The final term of the year (the Summer term) begins on Monday April 13th - this day, however, is an INSET day for staff so you all return to school on Tuesday April 14th. Please remember to bring your homework into school by Wednesday 15th April - we will look at some examples as a class but all work will be peer assessed on Wednesday afternoon.
Year Six, your topic following the Easter holiday is entitled "Technotastic" and it will have an I.C.T. focus - you will be looking at a selection of video games and investigating how they are controlled and moved. In addition, we will be looking at examples of digital art, exploring fantasy and futuristic stories and lots more!
EASTER HOMEWORK - This will be uploaded to the website and given as a paper copy on Friday March 27th.

Hi Year 6, it's the final week before the Easter holidays when we have two weeks off school - please can you ensure that you bring your Holi RE homework into school on Wednesday ready for it to be displayed and peer assessed - I will let you know about the Oddizzi log in details again so you can complete the quiz also. The two acts through to the next round of Eurovision will be informed tomorrow - remember that there is the Easter hat parade on Friday at 10.00 am and Eurovision in the afternoon.
Homework will be given out on Friday for our new topic following the Easter break, thank you.
We were placed into groups and were provided with the question "What foods stay the freshest for longest?(A choice from bread, cheese and lemon.) We decided upon how we would answer this, what method/apparatus we would use and how we would make the experiment a fair test - we predicted what food would remain the freshest and why - Come back soon to see us at work and what we found out.
Next week marks the end of our "Global Gourmet" topic - I would like you to taste some traditional breads and dips from India (ie, Naan bread, Keema Naan, raita dip etc.) Please could you name your choice of bread and if you are able to bring in some packaged breads/dips to help us, thank you.
UPDATE: I couldn't wait so we'll have our Indian taster session tomorrow (18.03.2015) - pilau rice, naan bread, peshwari nann bread, onions bhajis, pakoras, shish kebab, saag aloo and two different dips (raita, and mango chutney) are all on the menu!
Hello Year Six, your Ambassador homework has to be returned to school on Wednesday18th this week.
New homework will be given out on Friday March 20th and should be returned by Wednesday March 25th - We have been looking at India and how Hinduism is the primary religion of the country.
Please can you visit www.oddizzi.com and follow these links: Please click on "Explore the World" then "Country close up" and then "India." Under the heading "Living in India" you will find a "Festivals" link - please use the information and video clip (and other sources) to find out as much as you can about the Holi festival - when it is celebrated, why is it celebrated, what it involves - present what you have learnt in your Learning Logs over two pages following your "Plan, Do and Review" notes.
Also, please can you go the "Games" section of the website and play the "Cool Countries" game - I will be monitoring your scores as you move through the easy, medium and hard levels (Use star. 123 to log in)
Ok Year Six...I have a challenge for you! You've made fab progress in the levelled test but we now need to really improve the speed at which you answer questions - we will practise this in class but you can also practise quick re-call skills at home (please let me know if you'd like some activities to practise this at home.)
We have three weeks until the Easter holidays - Easter eggs will be waiting for those children who achieve between 60 and 72 out of 72 in their speed tests prior to the Easter holidays...work hard - you can do it!
UPDATE: 13/03/2015 - Pupils who reached the target this week were Grace Hill, Grace Kreft, Millie Howell, Lauren Clack, Megan Rushton, Morgan Rushton and Lahn Ihme - well done!
